== Baroque City - Fall of the Midnight Samaritan == =====The Pitch===== Darkness falls. Twilight creeps across the city, chasing out the last vestiges of the day. A chill wind blows through the streets. In its wake, the criminals, the scum, all those things that can't bear the sunlight spill out of their hiding places, like a swarm of spreading vermin. Lights come on, doors slam shut, and the cold is everywhere. Nobody with any sense makes a habit of staying out too long after dark here. Capes and crooks, mobsters and monsters... the night belongs to them, and they do not suffer just anyone to pass in their presence. Linger too long on the streets, and you'll be lucky if you only get mugged... Welcome to Baroque City. For ages, the city has had a protector - a nocturnal crusader, striking out against the underworld with an indomitable spirit and unbreakable willpower. One with the night, swiftly dispensing the Justice of the Lord, the Midnight Samaritan has been a thorn in the side of those who would profit from vice and corruption. Until this night. The Samaritan is dead. And a reckoning is coming. =====The Deal===== Baroque City - Fall of the Midnight Samaritan is another visit to the city of Baroque, first viewed in PbP form in the old Baroque_Blue game. The status quo of the city is severely shaken with the fall of the Samaritan and the resulting power vaccuum. Who will step in to pick up his mantle? Who will try to profit from his demise? Who will survive the coming struggle? And most importantly, who killed him? =====The Cast===== The League - these are the Samaritan´s peers, the ones who have taken it upon themselves to - like him - forge new identities for themselves and use their hard-won abilities to make a difference. The Hunters - the other side of the coin, the broken mirrors - these are the criminals who simply happen to be focusing on criminals, the Rorschachs and the Casey Jones-es. For them, the new era brings the opportunity of chaos. The Survivors - more than everymen, but still mundane Joes by the twisted measuring stick of Baroque, these are the ones who are threatened to be blown away by the upcoming battles. They don´t operate in the city... they ARE the city.
