==Entry 1== ''Note: Final entry in this journal; recovered by Det. Jackson, LVPD Organized Crime Task Force on {date illegible}.'' ===Beginnings=== Last night was a more interesting night than I expected. I got a call in the early evening from my business partner, Anthony, inviting me to the Lucky Stars to see a new act that we had recently hired. As I hadn't been to the Stars this week, and everything at the Velvet Room was going smoothly, I saw no reason to turn down the invitation, and arrived an hour or two after sunset, meeting with Anthony and his bodyguard Darius.
I have to admit, the singing of Miss Starbreeze (the new hire) was remarkable, enrapturing nearly everyone who heard it. Unfortunately, my enjoyment of the music was interrupted by the arrival of "Boss Tony" Figarelli, a known member of the Las Vegas underworld. Apparently, he wished to hire away Miss Starbreeze for his own purposes. After some intense negotiations, Mr. Figarelli realized that the contract was, in fact, binding. As far as I know, Figarelli departed shortly thereafter. ===Terrorist Attack=== It was at this point that two seperate security incidents occured on the casino floor. A group of men (who seemed to be in the employ of Mr. Figarelli) began a fight at a poker table. Thankfully, the intervention of the Stars' security detail (specifically, Mr. Shadoweyes, one of our guards) managed to break up the incident with little difficulty.
Shortly thereafter, Reverend Todd Brown -- already on the banned list due to his loud anti-gambling proseletyzing and harassment of customers -- appeared, having activated a timed bioweapon here, and at several locations around Las Vegas. Security, already involved in the altercation at the poker table, was unable to apprehend Mr. Brown before he escaped. Fortunately, thanks to the intervention of an on-hand expert (named Gabriel), the device was successfully disabled. As any good-minded citizen would do, I immediately contacted the authorities and informed them of Mr. Brown's threats.
After traveling to the Velvet Room and disposing of the device there, I and my associate, John Wu, went to Mr. Brown's church to confront the man -- though I have to admit to myself that I should have allowed the authorities to deal with him, I nevertheless wanted to give him a piece of my mind. However, Mr. Brown had already escaped, and a crowd was gathered outside. Mindful of the potential danger, I managed to convince most of them to disperse. Several women soon fled the church, showing obvious signs of abuse, causing me to call the police. ===Late Evening/Early Morning=== After leaving the scene shortly afterwards, I consulted with a security firm, Red Mountain Securities, recommended by Mr. Shadoweyes. After an early-morning meeting with the leaders of the firm, I decided that I would take a short vacation, knowing that my business associates could handle my interests in Las Vegas for the foreseeable future. I am unsure at the moment where my journey will take me, but I admit to looking forward to the first traveling I have ever really done. ===Postscript=== ''Note: The following was handwritten beneath the preceding entry.

''Dear Detective Jackson,
''If you're reading this, then you've finally convinced our judicial system to grant you that search warrant. Congratulations! I know the effort you've gone through attempting to find any sort of evidence linking me with organized crime (an accusation which, I repeat, is shocking and utterly untrue), and feel that any sort of victory for you should be celebrated!
''I hope you find my journal to be both entertaining and educational, and that you have better luck in the future. All my best to you and your task force,
''John Palmer''
