The first Boiler Room Brawl occurred at Summerslam 1996 and was held between Foley (using his Mankind persona) and The Undertaker. The rules of this particular match stated that the match would begin in the boiler room of the arena and the first competitor to make their way to the ring and take possesion of an urn, which was being held by The Undertaker's then-manager Paul Bearer.
