==Background==

Belle Leong is the youngest of the Leong family, a rather wealthy family that provides the young girl everything she’s always wanted. She’s got the most perfect sister in the world but she just can’t seem to compete, so instead of trying hard to win her parent’s affection and attention, she’s turned instead to her older sister, trying to do everything in her power to make Grace proud.

Singing lessons, archery, horse riding, all of the things a second daughter should be doing according to her parents. Though she does as best she can, her real passion is rooting for Grace, helping in any way possible, even if that tends to set her sister back a few hours of work.

Belle’s school life was completely different than her home life and she tried to keep her profile low enough so she wasn’t noticed - yet it didn’t help, the young girl still suffered from bullying for being different, for being naive, and for idolizing her sister unabashedly. It wasn’t until she met Scarlett that her outlook on school took a dramatic change, the two of them always together and always at each others backs, Belle being the mouth and Scarlett being the muscle.

On her nickname: Belle’s grandparents and relatives started calling her Sweetie Belle pretty early in her life and the nickname stuck, that is until she started 7th grade and a few bullies found out. The name has never been the same for the young girl and she cringes whenever family or friends use it.
