== The Plains of Ash == The Plains of Ash, also called the Ashlands, is a cursed place that is nigh empty of life. Though possessed of a certain haunting beauty, and abundant with land and fresh water and open skies, there have been no settlements there for centuries. Few travel there and those that do always vanish into the interior. It is an empty and wild land of great red flowers and endless waving plains of grass and bubbling streams, but little stirs save the leaves on the wind. For three millennia, this lush land has had a name that seems to ill suit its tranquility and wild, sombre beauty. For three millennia, the Teleri and the Laideann and the Dwarves have shunned this place and only mentioned it in the safety of their houses and mead-halls. Only after invoking their gods and in fearful whispers they give it its name.
