*'''Appearance:''' Rufus is a tall rail-thin African American man about 25 years old. He frequently smiles and wears cheap suits.
*'''Personality:''' A bit of a people person, Rufus enjoys people and learning about their hopes and dreams. He is friendly and open, but likes to push people to try new things and break out of their shells. He has a fondness for the potential of young people. Rufus is always helpful and tries to be there when people need a sympathetic ear.
*'''Background:''' Rufus grew up in a small town very much the weird kid. Other kids knew him as the guy that could scrounge up beer or pot or where a party was happening, so lots of people knew him but no one really liked him. He comes from a religious family but found it rather suffocating. He just went through the motions because that was easier then resisting, although his family always seemed to find some flaw in him.

After his Devouring he developed a religious devotion to the Dark Mother and came to see himself as a priest. His Beast religion is loose, mostly focusing the ideas of "We are all family", "We are allowed to be what we are" and "Eat to live, don't live to eat." He tries to help out newly devoured beasts (or other recently changed supernaturals) adjust to what they are and help them live healthy(-ish) lives. His long term goal is closer relations between the supernatural in New Orleans.

His unwilling to leave the church has actually earned him a bit of a reputation when he finally "got" religion (even if it's the not one he advertises) and played a larger roll in the church. His sermons are more passionate than theological, mostly he just likes working with people.
