Editing STA A More Perfect Union/Verda Lut (section)

==Background==
Verda Renden always wanted to be joined. But her academic studies were never very strong. She preferred physical activities and the night life afforded to living in a bustling, vibrant colony world. She worried that by not living on Trill she would never qualify to joining. It was only because of a favorable meeting with a Trill statesmen, Pravar Lut, that she got a chance to carry a symboint. Lut put in word for whom they might want to carry them next and unfortunately, Lut needed a new host sooner than expected.

This turned out to be a boon for Verda and a level of excitement Lut was probably not bargining for given that Verda has survived being on a ship that was destroyed and getting caught in a revolution on pre-contact planet during an observation mission since their joining ceremony.

Her first assignment was on the Penguin, a small exploration ship. The Penguin entered a system and was immediately assaulted and they never made contact with the people of the system. The XO, after the death of the captain, gave the abandon ship order and Verda found herself in the escape shuttle as the only pilot. She managed to get half the crew out before the Penguin exploded. Luckily, the defender did not pursue the shuttle. A distress signal brought a larger Starfleet vessel to their rescue. Though, it too was attacked without communcation. That ship's captain warped out of the system as soon as the shuttle was on board.

Later she was assigned to a pre-contact observation mission that went bad when war broke out between two factions of the pre-contact culture. Her undercover persona was involved in several firefights and fistfights before she was able to remove herself from the conflict. Starfleet abandoned the planet as they were obviously not ready for contact.

Verda has been focused on command track assignments since then and is excited for her first XO assignment.
