Bruce Wayne was always a precocious child from a line of precocious children. His father Thomas Wayne was a brilliant surgeon and humanitarian, his grandfather Damian Wayne had been a powerful baron of industry who built the Wayne Enterprises to the juggernaut it is today. By age 7 Bruce was taking apart and rebuilding almost anything mechanical or electrical in the house for fun. Age 8 he won a boxing tournament for ages 12-16. Age 9 he invented an improvement to the transistors Wayne Industries was producing.

Age 10 the kidnappers came for him after school. Masked in ghoulish clown make-up they grabbed him and speed away before anyone could respond. Thomas and Martha got a ransom note the same day, and gathered up the money and the Gotham Police. The exchange went well but before they could leave one of the gang members made the cops and a shootout started. Bruce took a bullet in the spine and was paralyzed below the waist. Thomas tried and tried to help his son but even his prodigious talents were unable to fix him. Bruce was able to invent a number of workarounds such as a robotic exo-skeleton or turning his wheelchair into a vehicle capable of turning into a car, plane, or sub. 

Bruce earns multiple PhDs in engineering, science and mathematics by the time he is 26 and heads up Wayne Industries R&D division, leading to a huge burst in growth for the company as they pick up multiple military contracts worldwide. A test demonstration in Poland in 89 went terribly wrong when rogue Soviet radicals attacked the group, Bruce managed to save many of the people there but his parents were killed. Then, Bruce realized weapons were not the way to achieve peace and liquidated the arms selling part of the business and used it to found a school on the spot where the attack happened. 

Present Day, The Wayne School for the Gifted, Poland

A group of the world's brightest young minds sits in a brightly lit and modern class room. A slightly graying but still imposing man rolls in on a sleek wheelchair. A built-in amplification system lets him reach the whole room without having to strain his voice at all.
