==Background==
A resident of the warsphere Howl Maroak, Kyrek was one of several scouts recently dispatched to seek out new employment options and report back to the warsphere, along with anything they learned along the way. This led to his encounter with Captain Cornelius and a highly profitable contract that also gave the Kroot chance to adapt in a number of interesting ways. However, the most recent effort of retrieving wealth from a hulk did not go as planned when the landing went awry.

Lacking long distance communication and believing his employer had perished, Kyrek had initially worked on simply surviving, that is, however, until he heard the sounds of firefights and found bodies showing wounds that indicated the Captain's specialised weaponry. Encouraged by the chance that his employment was not as finished as he'd thought and that this also offered a better chance of escaping the Hulk, he followed the trail of destruction.
