==Premise== With the heroic efforts of the Dragon-Blooded and their Bronze Faction sponsors among the Sidereals, the civil war that threatened to tear the Realm apart was averted despite the official declaration of the death of the Empress. Peace, however tenuous, has been restored to the Blessed Isle under Mnemon's rule, and the Great Houses of the Realm have turned their attention outward once again. Once a satrapy of the Realm, Thorns now stands as the greatest insult delivered to the Realm's authority since its failed invasions of the Scavenger Lands. Its defenders slaughtered, the city itself turned into the foothold of a Deathlord upon Creation. The Mask of Winters seems invulnerable with the combined might of his army, his Death Knights, and Juggernaut. With no Defense Grid to prove the continuing strength of the Realm, Mnemon ordered a massive army under the command of Tepet Ejava to reclaim Thorns at any cost. Success should cement Mnemon's rule as every bit as strong as her mother's. Failure, on the other hand, could lead the Threshold satrapies as well as the Realm's enemies to see her as weak and vulnerable. The River Province regards the Realm force with unveiled suspicion and hostility. Lookshy has begun mobilizing should this be an effort by the Realm to reclaim more than just their lost satrapy. And who knows what the response will be of the other Deathlords to such a massive undertaking. Can the Dragon-Blooded hope to achieve victory?
