The Orthasiam gene-line is an old and established one on the Forge World Hadd, producing a steady stream of Enginseers and Lexmechanics and several times a century Artisans and Logii.  Remi was conceived as an experiment, an ambitious Biologis hoping to use the steady nature of the Orthasiam to balance out the brilliant but famously unstable Shonagon line.  Preliminary data is highly promising and the Biologis is petitioning to engender a larger sample, although the  question is still being discussed in committee.
