== Background == [[File:Voice of Terminal Disruption.jpg]] If you look, Vod (his preferred shorthand for Voice of Terminal Disruption) was born in Chidi's capital city, among the urban slums and glittering lights of the towering Dragon-blooded megacorps. You might pick up scraps of incident reports or interviews with the shady sort about mixed stories of a card shark, hustler, scapegrace, dealer. But you probably won't get his name, much less have looked in the first place. The past is dead, just as much as Vod was. It doesn't matter whether it was by drug overdose, gang violence, a hit & run (and Vod can and will make any or more of the stories if asked) because ''no one cares''. No one cares who Vod was before the Tomb-Stars contacted him with an offer. They fulminated about entropy making a mockery of all certainties, like how Vod exploited marks' prejudices and assumptions. They offered him a new lease on life (sort of) and power. Ever an opportunist, Vod accepted. But the necrotic stellar intellects should have taken second thoughts about how their logic could be twisted by an independent scoundrel like Vod. Such as undercutting them by going rogue at the first possible opportunity. Vod returned to the Wukong sector, with unbelievable new assets and an immense array of potential targets available to him. Vod is no rebel or nihilist, but simply someone who enjoys (and sees some cosmic sanction) in cutting people down a peg or two.
