'''Background:''' Vitaliy was born into a lower caste family of Steppengrad, his father a cobbler and his mother? Well she had two twins to handle, Vasiliy and Anya, brother and sister. There were other siblings later but there's a special bond between twins and these two were no exception. 
Unfortunately they were born into a terrible time of strife and warfare. Vasiliy was swept up and taken away by Baba Yaga's forces to be turned into one of her pet hounds. And so it was the young boy that loved nothing more than crisp days in the woods playing music on his Kobza with his sister became a monster and was set against his people. 

Years passed, atrocities were committed and suddenly the nameless hound once again was Vitaliy. Separated from his war pack and covered in someone else's with the taste of copper in his mouth he managed to find his way back home.. or what was left of home. His people knowing what he was and had become did not trust him but also did not stop him; fear is a powerful thing. A childhood friend gathered up his courage and gave Vitaliy the bad news, his brothers had gone and died in the Bane War; his father, cut down by the tsar's men; his mother, a shell, too much loss had stole her mind away; her little sisters gone to other families with enough to spare for another mouth; and Anya, taken to be added as another of the new tsar's many wives. That day Vitaliy found a new drive for his wretched life, the curse that was bestowed upon him he would use as a weapon and tool against those that would subjugate the innocent. He would kill Tsar Nikolai the First and rescue his sister.
