==Prerequisites==

First, it is not possible to practice this martial art without skill in cooking. To represent this, a Xia must first have taken the [[Xia: Specialised Skills|specialised skill]] '''Chef''' to be able to learn any of the techniques on this style sheet.

Secondly, it is not possible to practice this martial art without adequate ingredients, cooking utensils and a kitchen. Master chefs are presumed to carry around pouches of useful spices, and can make the most of most kitchens, but a bare minimum of fresh foodstuffs, a flame to cook on and a wok, oven or steamer will still be needed.

Note that for these preparations to have their magical effects, the food must be eaten just after it has been cooked. Reheated rations still might taste pretty good, but the powerful chi effects will be long faded.
