MCPO Kulkarni has light brown skin, and the indeterminate mixture of genetic features typical of many Fivers.  Breaking from modern fashion trends for female personnel, Kulkarni wears her undyed graying hair in a short, low-maintenance cut, and does not wear any makeup.  Kulkarni once overheard herself described by one of her Fiver Militia "kids," who said "Sergeant Major* Kulkarni's old, and she ain't ''big'', but I bet she could kick any of our asses.  She's like a compact brick of pure concentrated non-com."


* Since the Planetary Guard is primarily a ground-based force, personnel use traditional Army ranks unless actually on Fleet duty.
