==Background== Some kids are losers. Some kids are nerds. Some kids have dreams. Eve was a kid described by all of those. She grew up in one of the wealthy suburbs outside of Atlanta. Her parents- both upper middle class professionals- had little time for their daughter. It was ok, because as Eve saw it she didn't really have time for parents either. Or friends, for that matter. Friends sucked. Books were better. Books were smarter then friends. They had better imaginations, and gave her more to think about. More things to dream about. Books were rarely mean to chubby girls. But most of all, books promised something better in the future. In the future, technology was going to make life a better place. No one would have to be strange, because they could be remade to be normal. They wouldn't have to be weak, because some one could make them strong. In the future, no one would cry in the bathroom. In the future, everyone would be able to do cartwheels in gym. In the future, no one would have to be better then anyone else. Eventually, Eve grew up. The books she read started to become more and more her reality. Science fiction gave way to real science. She got a degree in electrical engineering, then a masters in the same, from UGA. Then she got a TA position, while she worked on her Ph.D. And some where in all of that, things begin real to her. Something spoke to her. Giving her the ability to think beyond the ways her comrades and classmates and professors did. Access to an entirely new plane of science to work with. Since she joined the Free Council, Eve- or Bright's- reputation as steadily grown. She's a passionate and staunch advocate for what she believes, but she has a reputation as one of the least dogmatic, most open minded of all of Athens' Free Council Mages. She holds the official title of Emissary, though that's less important in a city dominated by the Free Council. It does mean she's normally where Diamond mages go to have their problems and requests heard- even before the Heirarch.
