=== Raise Dead, Resurrection, & Reincarnation === These spells are all available for use with certain prohibitions & conditions, as noted below. * Characters wanting to avail themselves of the spell must find a priest of high enough level to cast the spell spell (9th Level for ''Raise Dead''; 14th level for ''Resurrection'' or ''Reincarnate'') * Characters must find said priest within the time limit of death as dictated by the spell description (1 day per caster level for ''Raise Dead''; 10 years per level for ''Resurrection'; 1 week for ''Reincarnate''). * Said priest must be willing to cast the spell for the characters; priests may be unwilling to perform rituals over the dead who were not believers, or for companions of the dead who are not believers. They may request an act or service (to include conversion!) before agreeing to perform the rituals/cast the spell. * Beyond such actions or services, there are costs incurred for the spell that the priests will generally levy upon those requesting it. In particular, ''Resurrection'' has severe impacts to the caster (who ages 3 years and requires bed rest for 1 day per level of the dead person resurrected) and will be particularly costly. Rule of Thumb costs would be: ** ''Raise Dead'': 1000 gp + 500 gp/level of caster (minimum of 5500 gp for 9th level caster) ** ''Resurrection'': 10βs of thousands of gold pieces; more than likely, such a caster would request a major quest or service to be performed which includes returning a holy relic or artifact, which would be the payment for the service. ** ''Reincarnate'': approximately 10,000 gp or more; possibly offered in exchange for a major quest/service as noted under Resurrection. * Each spell has particular aspects & constraints that will be imposed on the character receiving them: ** ''Raise Dead'': Character must make a successful Resurrection Survival check (based on CON) for the spell to work; the body of the dead character must be nearly intact (e.g., not dissolved, decapitated, gutted, or otherwise in a condition the character cannot survive if raised); any conditions that the character had prior to dying (poison, disease, etc.) will still be in play when raised (DMβs discretion), and if these killed the character, they may die of the same condition again if it is not also removed. The raised character will lose one point of Constitution permanently from their pre-death value. ** ''Resurrection'': Character must make a successful Resurrection Survival check (based on CON) for the spell to work; the body of the dead character must be more-or-less intact; the chance of the spell working will decrease as the condition of the remains deteriorates. ** ''Reincarnate'': The dead player may come back as a different race or species; this can have significant impacts to their class and level and abilities, as described by the spell. Note that Reincarnate does not require a System Shock check as the other spells do.
