==Backstory== House Ragara has had fairly high expectations for Ragara Calel Falia since she was born and she has managed to live up to their expectations more often than not. Born the child of two fire aspects with impeccable breeding, both Falia’s appearance and personality indicated her ties to the Elemental Dragon of Fire even before her Exaltation. Faila’s time in primary school was uneventful. She had an assortment of friends, including V’Neef Desro. She excelled in her physical and martial classes and performed satisfactorily in the academic ones. Falia exalted during one of the breaks from primary school. She and several of her family members had travelled to the Ventus Prefecture to hunt and during the excitement of dealing with an unusually vicious wild boar, Falia’s anima manifested for the first time. Once she completed primary school, there was no question in anyone’s mind that Falia would attend the House of Bells. From the start, Falia settled well into the House of Bells. She quickly became a member of the popular crowd: gossiping, sharing clothing, and planning entertainments with Kytharsis, Ravel, Gulio (her roommate), Tokkera, and Usera. She also enjoyed most of her courses, especially those involving swordsmanship, archery, and survival. Then came the day when things became especially interesting. Falia experienced what she later realized was a waking dream. The Empress came silently into her classroom, ignored the groveling teacher and looked through the rows of awestruck, kneeling children. She looked directly at Falia, her expression appraising…neither positive nor negative, just as if she was weighing Falia in some way. And then, her gaze moved on to another student. After a time, during which she looked carefully at several students, she walked back out of the classroom, never having said a word. Conversations with some of her classmates quickly revealed that most of them didn’t want to discuss it and in fact didn’t seem to remember it. Falia had just about decided that it had just been some sort of passing fancy on her part, when she discovered that there were a few others amongst her friends who had experienced the same thing. Thus began the golden age of Falia’s friendships within the brotherhood. In addition to the bounds of a shared vision, the group was strengthened by bonds of friendship and even love. They worked well together, strengthening each other, sharing knowledge, tutoring and skills. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to last. The relationship between Desro and Kythri shattered when, without even realizing it, Falia made a couple of statements that allowed Desro to see through Kythri’s manipulations. The group split, with most of the members taking Kythri’s side. Falia was one of the few who didn’t choose a side. Instead, unable to determine the truth of the myriad of rumors, she did best to stay neutral and remain friends with both. Things came to a head shortly after graduation, at a Cynis garden party. Falia had been given a Gemstone of Deep Drink and certain instructions by her family and told that if she succeeded at her task the hearthstone would be hers to keep. Guilo had been given orders by Mnemon herself to defeat Falia in a duel and disrupt the Ragara’s plans and since Falia appeared to have been drinking heavily believed that it would be an easy fight. Falia lost her temper. The pressure of her assignment, the constant nagging of Guilo to take Kythri’s side, and just the wrong words, caused the young fire blood to push the duel further than she normally would and when she saw an opening to take an action that would leave Guilo humiliated. The duel ended with Guilo’s blade in Falia’s off hand, Gulio on her back, and Falia’s blade at her throat. (For further details about the friendships and this time period, see the relationships section). Falia graduated “With Distinction” from the House of Bells for making a kill during The Hunt. Though offered a commission in the Legions, Falia instead agreed to work directly for House Ragara. For the first few years after graduation, she travelled extensively through the Realm and Threshold with her elder brother, a graduate from the Spiral Academy. He handled the discussions with debtors, and she provided protection and made certain that their travels were comfortable. Three years ago, she returned to the Juche Prefecture, where she started training with her Great Uncle, Ragara Calel Antoan, to first become head of security for her branch of the House and eventually for House Ragara as whole. She is learning to hire and fire the soldiers that protect the Ragara holdings and caravans. She works with the House’s guards and bodyguards. She currently oversees the security for some of the household manses and in time will oversee the security of the larger ones. She even spends some time tutoring the younger children of the household in combat skills. While it is perhaps not the most exciting job, it allows her both the opportunity to serve her House and a good amount of free time to develop her skills and engage in various types of recreation. Falia has not yet married. And though there have been a few discussions about arranging an engagement for her, thus far the Household has decided to wait. This doesn’t bother Falia much since, while she has no objections to marriage, she is perfectly willing to wait for the right match. Questions: How did your character react to the Empress' appearance and the realization that only the others remembered it? Falia believe that the Empress was judging the potential of herself and the other members of the group and that She most likely has fairly high expectations for them. However, since Falia doesn’t know what the Empress desires from them, for now she has chosen to focus on developing her skills, serving her Household, and serving the Realm. In those ways, she was able develop her abilities and make herself better able to fulfill the Empress’ expectations. The rest of the questions are answered in the relationships section.
