====Fifth Legion-Punishment Duty-Tag Cohorts====
The Punishment cohorts are comprised of people who have been given some judgement that interrupts their normal term of service and duty but have decided to remain in the service of Amber. Discipline issues, AWOL, criminal behaviors.  

Service in the Tag Cohorts does not remove them from technically remaining on the rolls of their normal posting.  Example;  A soldier in the 3rd Legion, 2n Cohort commits insubordination and is assigned to the Blue Tag Cohort.  He is listed as Serving in the Second of the Third, on assignment to the Blue Tag for 18 months. 

Anyone serving a stint in a tag cohort has been convicted of some infraction but has requested to be allowed to remain in service in order to be eligible to return to duty in their previous assignment, return to duty in another unit, or leave the service after the term of punishment and receive an honorable discharge.

The Punishment Cohorts also are different in that they span services.  Those serving in the Tag Cohorts may have been members of any Amber military branch.  It is not unusual for those sentenced to the Tag Cohorts to have been in the Navy or the Rangers.  Star Fleet occasionally sends its punishemnt cases to the Tag Cohorts but generally handle their punishment cases in service.

*Sixth Cohort-Blue Tag Cohort-Those serving up to 3 years. Those serving Blue Tag Duty are assumed to be eligible to return to their former posting after the completion of their term.
*Seventh Cohort-Red Tag Cohort-Those serving 3 to 12 years
*Eighth Cohort-Black Tag Cohort-Those serving under punishment duty till their 20 year term of service is complete.  12 to 20 years.
*Ninth Cohort-Green Tag Cohort-Soldiers in the Green Tag are serving less then a year and usually on one particular project. Road construction.  Building and fortification repair. Harbor dredging.
