Even in the roar of a fire I can hear the Rhythm Creation, as to the cut of a blade through skin, and the moan of a lover sated

My name is Opal, my first Master called me Inferno Opal, for he said that I rose to fight like fires on curtains.... My first Master was known for his wild parties.

Since my birth I had been trained to serve the needs of the rulers of Creation, to be a balm to their souls, with a well spoken poem, a masterfully brewed cup of tea, a night of passion on sheets of silk. I was trained in it all, but my heart hungered for conflict, and while their was some of that in social arena that I moved in, I wanted something more physical, and beyond just the rough bed play.

I was sent by my second Master out to the edges of Creation where her Lunar Mate made war on the Fair Folk, to being a little civilization to the war zone. The Lunar saw the desire for battle that burnt in my eyes and she took me on as her Pupil and she became my third Master. She refined my sense of timing and poetic senses, telling me to feel the rhythm of Creation, to find the perfect moment to strike, ‘as with a pen, it is all about punctuation’, she said.

I was happy there, poet and warrior, courtesan and assassin, and might have served my third master until the end of my days, but it was not to be.

I was sent to Meru, to look into an incident my third Master had taken an interest in.
