===Background=== Born in the low-habs of Hive Sibellus on Scintilla, Quintus saw his father die in a manufactoria accident, his mother kill herself with cheap Tranq, and his sisters abducted by narco-pimps. He turned to scavenging and small-time thievery, until he broke into a mid-hive hab that belonged to the Order of the Golden Dawn, a small relatively benign occultist cabal using minor warpcraft and psy-tricks to improve their own lot in life. Captured, he impressed their Chief Magus enough that he was taken on as an apprentice to them, and to their delight developed certain psy-gifts. Eventually the cabal grew rich enough that the Adeptus Arbites caught onto them (something that Quintus made sure of), and the Magus decided to flee Scintilla and the Imperium altogether, taking Quintus with him on a voyage to Footfall in the Expanse. At Footfall, Quintus managed to give the old magus the slip, and remained hidden until the old man had booked passage out onto some other world. Quin had never lost himself during his years of indentured servitude to the Order of the Golden Dawn, and alone on Footfall set about using all his skills to carve out a comfortable life for himself as an underworld fixer and info-dealer. But his desperate origins gnawed at him, and after a few years "comfortable" was no longer enough: he needed cash enough that nothing would ever pose a real problem to him again. He was sick of the threat of narco-gangers, hive enforcers, oppressive mentors and the rules of occultism, and anyone else that thought they were stronger than he was clever. And so he threw his net wide, and waited for the golden opportunity.
