===Exaltation=== Perhaps their hunt had not pleased the Great Wind. Perhaps it was simply ill fortune, or a passing fancy. Whatever the reason, as Styr and a few other young men were returning from a hunting trip one of the Creator's monsters set upon their village. A horrific thing, all wings and claws and wickedly sharp teeth, it threaded its way through the village. Those in its path it plucked from the ground, some devoured instantly, others carried screaming to great heights before they were released, the sounds of their death carried by the wind.
The hunters charged forward, their kills dropped in the snow, to fight and die as men of the North do.
A great battle ensued, daring, desperate hunters against an invincible demon. In the end, the broken bodies of villagers and hunters both littering the ground, Styr drove his spear deep into the jaws of the oncoming monster, killing it as he had the boar years before, the iron point driven deep into the creature's brain. But the monster was deadly even in death, its great bulk continuing forward, impaling Styr with impossibly long talons, pinning him against the wall of a hut.
And so he would have died, his life forgotten, his empty village a monument to the Great Wind until she - or time - claimed it in the end. But Luna had been searching for those she would forge into her own weapons in the coming rebellion, those perhaps overlooked by the Sun, but no less powerful, or deadly. And so the Silver Lady came to his village, her fingers touching his lips as blood welled from them, and granted him an Exaltation.
I have need of you hunter. Rise, and be an arrow in my quiver. I will make you into one of Creation's greatest warriors - and let you rip the heart from those who have taken so much.
