The Mirialan people are described as deeply religious and practicing a primitive understanding of the Force, and have always had members in the Jedi Order. So Sikka will likely know she is in tune with the Force, and some of her ancestors have been Jedi.

Their parents were reluctant to do so, and so was Sikka. Her sister obviously has no such qualms and sees the Empire as the way forward, not to mention a great source of revenue.
