* New characters newpaper photographer Jack Casey (played by Chris) and Purple Gang member Michael McMann (played by Gene). 
* McMann is a tall (6'2") red-headed man in his mid-20s, who immigrated from Ireland 2 or 3 years ago.  He is a member of the Purple Gang. 
* McMann and Casey talk to J.T. at the Irish Rose.  According to McMann, the Purple Gang says that they were delivering the kids for a Lorenzo Farbeck.  McMann heads to the farm where the children were being held prisoner.
* In the Purple Gang, there are 4-5 different bosses with independent rackets.  McMann works for Abe Axel, who is a sub-boss for ??.  J.T. got a letter from the someone else (liquor boss) in the gang who wanted to set up a meeting, and was satisfied with our performance.  
* J.T. writes to the liquor boss asking to meet at noon on Friday the 19th.  In Victor's absence, Michael temporarily takes over running gambling at the Irish Rose.  The meeting 
* Purple Gang lead by the Jewish brothers Joe, Abraham, Raymond, and Isadore Bernstein.
