The HG can award you 5XP toward this quest when you:
*Watch somebody die.  It can be an animal if there's a reason for it to affect you.
*Get in a fight with someone you care about.
*Break down from grief or shock
*Get really, viscerally sick.  It's either life-threatening or gross.
Once per chapter, you can gain 1XP toward this quest when you:
*Talk with someone about someone or something you've lost
*Hug a large animal, like a deer.
*Walk with the Headmaster of the Bleak Academy
*Wander in a Daze
*You can't eat or drink, or can't keep something down
*You fall apart a little, and skip your regular hygiene/self-maintenance tasks.
*Wander a graveyard or at the edge of a cliff
*Lock yourself in a bathroom
*Self-harm
