===Character Notes:=== Your dad always pushed for you to be a soldier in his footsteps - pushed and pushed and pushed. You preferred reading science journals and dreamt of Nobel Peace Prizes rather than Purple Hearts. You had to attend the scouts and cadets, but though you knew you would never make it as a soldier (not with your physique) your father wouldn't hear of you quitting. You'd rather have been a chemist (your natural calling, you felt) but daddy didn't want to have some nerd as a kid, so pushed you to apply for military school. You never made it though - on the evening of February 14th, 1950, while all the cool and popular kids were out on dates, you were in the school laboratory. You'd found a lump of black meteoric rock earlier that day, and decided to analyse it yourself, in the spirit of scientific enquiry. Suffice to say that the rock didn't like hydrochloric acid, releasing a pulse of "black light". The resulting explosion levelled the school. They found you though in the rubble and ruins, seemingly unharmed. Once the press was through with you, the government moved in and you were introduced to the Enhanced Soldiers Program. With your dad looking proudly over your shoulder, you signed the contract that would commit you body and soul to their control. Somehow your exposure to the reacting meteorite's black light has infused you with the ability to understand and manipulate metahuman energy. The Enhanced Soldiers Program is ecstatic about this. You... are not so keen. You never wanted to be a soldier, even if your father did. You're not brave, and the idea of combat makes you feel a little nauseous. You know you're a geek pretending to be a tough man. If it weren't for the look of pride that your father gives you when he sees "my boy, the superhero soldier" you'd walk away from it all right now...
