El condado se extiende hacia el sur siguiendo el Río del Oro hasta el delta que termina en el Océano Pacífico. El área metropolitana de San Angelo cubre al norte dos tercios del condado, siendo la mayor parte del resto de la región una zona rural de tierras de cultivo, granjas, tierras de ganadería y alguna que otra pequeña ciudad.
