== Businesses == Look for the Economicon for more details. Businesses need some investment. Resources put into the business (a base of operation, for example) generate 5% of that as base income each month. Risky businesses add CR appropriate value to that. A CR 1 complication every 4 months works out to an extra 65 gp per month. (No business is completely risk-free, but a CR 1/4 once per year is pretty close only adding an extra 4.6 gp per month. Similarly, no business can get by with no investment, although there's no strict minimum.) You must pay 1/3 of the base income at the beginning of the month. If nothing goes wrong, you automatically get that back and make a profit check to get some percentage of the base income in profit. === Profit Checks === At the end of each month you must make a profit check. This is an ability check, DC 20, against your highest mental ability. You make the base profit, plus or minus 5% for each point above or below a 20 on your roll. (So: [base profit]*[your roll]/20.)
