====Martial Arts Charms==== '''''Violet Bier of Sorrow Style''''' *Secrets of Future Strife **Doubles base Join Battle pool ***Manual of Exalted Power: Sidereals, page 180. '''''Pearl Dreaming Courtesan Style''''' *Demure Carp Feint **The character opens the fans waving it in a distracting way (need not be a war fan). While using this Charm, the Exalt adds either his Essence or +2 (whichever is greater) to their DVs. ***Scroll of the Monk, page 88 *Pearlescent Filigree Defense ** Each mote spent adds one to the character's lethal soak and two to the character's bashing soak. (This bonus does not count as armour, but as a form of natural soak.) The character can not spend more mots of Essence to fuel this Charm then he has dots in Essence. ***Scroll of the Monk, page 88 *Lethal Paper Fan Attack **The character treats all paper fans (or other similar props such as brushes or mirros) as wind-fire wheels. He treats all sashes, long hems, sleeves and so on as seven-section staves. The damage these weapons inflict is lethal, though their appearance does not change. In addition, if the character uses an actual war fan or other accountment that has been properly constructed for use in the martial arts, the character may enhance the weapon's Speed, Accuracy, Damage or Defense by an amount equal to his Essence. (pick any value when activating the Charm.) If the player picks Speed, a value equal to the character's Essence is subtracted from the weapon Speed rating. The result of doing so can be no less then 1, however. Sashes, cloak-hems and other clothing turned into weighted ropes and then enhanced by this Charm deal less damage then they would empowered by the Charm alone-but the character can wield them with much greater Speed, Accuracy or Defense ***Scroll of the Monk, page 88-89 *Dreaming Pearl Courtesan Form **The sensual martial artist's props and robes take on a life of their own, enhancing and complementing his movements. The martial arts controls one prop per dot of Essence he has (deciding his prop to animate when he activates the Charm.) If the martial arts wishes to change the props, he must drop the present invocation of this Charm and reactivate it. While using this Charm, the character's Martial Arts score is add to all Presence and Socialize rolls, including those required for social combat and the activations of Charms. ***Scroll of the Monk, page 89 *Flurry of August Leaves Concentration **The martial artist with this Charm casts his fans or sashes into the air, making them swoop and slash out at an opponent before obediently returning to him. If he activates this Charm while using the Dreaming Pearl Courtesan Form, the martial arts can have as many props as that Charm allows to make multiple attacks against one target. This Charm allows the martial arts to strike a target up to (Martial Arts x5) yards away. The Exalt rolls a single normal Martial Arts attack, regardless of how many weapons the character control. Successes from the roll, penalized by the target's DV, apply to all the weapons simultaneously, and the damage is calculated normally as if he had performed the attack manually. The opponent does suffer an onslaught penalty to his DV for being attacked by multiple props, but each prop applies its damage separately. ***Scroll of the Monk, page 89
