Frankly, I detested Tanic for having the tenacity to call me home from a good life and then ttying me down to the fucking ball and chain of a satrapy, of all things. Slowly, though, it all made sense. As I grew into my new role, I began to reexamine everything I knew about the man - every meting between us, every letter that he sent, every word that he had spoken. As the true Tanic emerged, I felt a kinship to him that was closer than I had ever felt for anyone else. He was my father, and he was dead. I know what I had to do now - family matters, and that is all there is to it. As for pur enemies? Fuck them; fuck them all. I´ll show them how a Tanic fights.

The common people read my stories and dream of being one of the followers who get to accompany me, the patricians write poems and ingratiate themselves, my Dynast cousins love and enve me in equal measure. I have amassed a treasure trove of forgotten artifacts, unique goods and the traces of ancient histories that will live on long past my own death.
