=== Damphit district ===
[[Image:Damphit.png|thumb|center|Damphit overview]] The district (or ward) you live in is located in the northwest of the lower hive and is called Damphit. Under a high, dimly lit steel sky ugly, dirty and run-down blocks of five to six stories high tenements provide home to the poorest inhabitants of the hive still working for a living. Most people living here have to commute to the factory complexes a couple of hours every day. Law enforcement already is lax and rather ineffective (but allegedly not corrupt!) and crime unfortunately a very common occurrence. Some gangs go on rampage in the nights and battle to increase their turf. Battles for a couple of rooms in a tenement or a whole building level are not unheard of. ==== Locations ====
A couple of well-known locations in Damphit include: - '''Carmin’s''', a bar run by a tall man called Carmin - '''Sundown''', a bar/club run by a sleazy, greasy guy called Bordack - '''Silver Fingers''', a brothel, rumoured to be owned by The Colonel - '''The Bleeding Edge''', a bar near your hab stack where shady people meet - '''The Technical Shoppe''', run by Horace Bendfield, he sells all kind of technical equipment and if he trusts the client he occasionally sells ammunition or weapons from a very limited selection. - '''Hours abound''', a 24/7 drug store chain with stores all across the hive - '''The Alm’s house''', run by Mattis Naton, catering for the poorest of the poor - '''Damphit Law Enforcement''', this station is run by Melchor Arrias and is already strained to its limits ==== Factions ====
'''The Colonel''' Leader: Gallus "The Colonel" Holmes A cruel man who is the head of the organised crime in Damphit. His organisation controls most of the crime in Damphit, especially racketeering and the brothels. He also has good connections to the Black Market. '''The Black Market''' Background: Contacting the black market is the easiest way to get access to a large variety of ammunition or weapons. Law prohibits to carry weapons, still most people do. The local contact is Carmin (who runs a bar) who also is said to have contacs who are always interested in salvaged tech equipment. Your relationship: on a matter of business '''The Night-teens''' Leader: Wicked Mike Background: a small group of drug addicted young gals and lads with a focus on needless and outright violence. They rank high on the (small) wanted list of the Damphit Law Enforcement as they attack innocent citizens as well as other gang members. Your relationship: hostile; several times you've clashed with them violently '''The Collectas''' Leader: Sedrick Fandalore Background: a very small group focussing on salvaging tech equipment from the depths of the hive and other abandoned areas. They seem to be very successful and boast good equipment. They usually don't like it if others cross their path Your relationship: neutral; now that you've decided to get into the scavenging business they will be your most fierce competitors. Up until know you haven't clashed with them and they don't know of your ambitions yet '''The Reapers''' Leader: Raphel Stark Background: they simply concentrate on drug dealing and occasional clashes with other violent gangs, especially the Night-teens. Your relationship: neutral; they don't mess with your business, you don't mess with theirs '''The Silhouettes''' Leader: unknown Background: A new gang has just arisen in Damphit. They call themselves "The Silhouttes" and it's said they only accept females in their ranks. Nobody really knows what they are up to. Your relationship: unknown; you haven't met them up until now ==== Accessible areas ====
The next, directly accessible area on the same level are: - '''Ward Six''', a rather dangerous and run-down area where it only gets worse as there is even less law enforcement, the ward tends to be a good proving and exercise ground for gangs wanting to hone their fighting skills. Also there are rumours of several under-hive access points spread across this ward. - '''Arlington''', a working class residential district, a litte bit better than Damphit, the majority of its inhabitants are a hard-working lot and there's less crime - '''Celciphore''', a large former residential district closed by the officials after a riot and a devastating fire, yet is still is accessible by crawling through a couple of narrow maintenance shafts or inoperative drainage system tubes
