==History==
To say that Xiu Lin, the Glorious Tiger Sage had been born under an auspicious sign, with the approval of Heaven above and Earth below, would probably be a complete fabrication, designed
for the purpose of fitting a square peg in a round hole. In truth, Lin has long been hoping to have a comfortable and productive lifestyle, gaining in wealth and influence through legitimate
channels, and proving to be a Proper Daughter of Xiu Guo, a man residing in the upper echelons of power--a man satisfied with the security of his future, and therefore able to indulge his progeny,
especially with his legacy secure in the form of his son. Her life was comfortable, largely sheltered from the darker aspects of her homeland, as is customary with the higher classes of humanity,
and she grew to be a moderately well liked young woman, permitted to study abroad in her quest to assemble her ideal lifestyle.

Diligent and intelligent, it seemed that the her ambition was assured. With excellent grades, increasingly solid connections forged, and a great deal of recommendations signed by the faculty
of the schools she attended, her graduation was intended to be a family get-together, assembling the clan to celebrate their daughter's ascendancy to the halls of power... And that's about when
the world realized that people aren't allowed to be happy or self-realized, and a Conspiracy of Villains reared it's head. The household fell under attack, with loud guns blazing, shadowy figures tearing
through the bodyguard, and a great deal of "Unpleasant Things happening that I would rather not speak of", as she would later file the routine away. Not one for battle--or for that matter, much in the
way of physical pursuits--Lin was left in the unenviable position of being potentially Collateral Damage on a massive assassination attempt, and left to determine some way of surviving the ensuing
firefight. It was here where she showed her first few glimmerings of the potential she was expected to reach, quickly devising an elaborate escape plan with the surviving members of the clan,
carefully employing the surviving bodyguards in diversionary strokes, distracting the attackers in a variety of ways--and spreading them in a number of unusual positions.

At which point, she lead the survivors out of the now-unoccupied front gates, and had gotten them well on their way to the approaching authorities when something struck her on the back of the head.

She's never quite decided whether she appreciates the Beast Courts intervention in her lifestyle (Especially as they were suspiciously close on hand during the attack). On the one hand, they did
provide a certain degree of tutelage in the ways of Power--drawing forth the secret arts that were enkindled within her soul during her Ploy to escape the besieged estate. On the other hand entirely,
they had a habit of referring to her in the sort of flowery language one would expect from an ancient story, as opposed to something more sensible, like her name. It remains to be seen what,
exactly, they plan--but Lin has not survived this long by moving recklessly, just because someone's intentions may not be benign.

She will Watch. Wait. Then when the time comes to make her move, when she possesses all the knowledge she requires--she will make her move. The Tiger is a patient animal after all.
