===Aboleth=== An '''[http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/aboleth.htm Aboleth] is CR 7''' and is a Huge 'revolting fishlike amphibian found primarily in subterranean lakes and rivers'. At that Challenge Rating, in an an E6 world we want these creatures to have a pretty low population - but we also need to take into account the specific powers, and the expected environment - both of which can be disproportionately difficult to deal with when you're level 6. *'''Aboleths''' are Far Realm incursion creatures. During some great metaphysical cataclysm in prehistory, the universe fractured and, somehow, Aboleths came into being. Now they inhabit the Darkways, a network of stygian underground rivers and lakes that, it is rumoured, could potentially allow them access to any body of water anywhere. There is only one civilisation of Aboleths, ruled over by the nameless Aboleth Mage. From their impossibly deep watery lairs, they launch raids on sentient creatures for slaves and other, more inscrutible purposes. But with the '''Aboleth Mage, CR 17''', things are really interesting. At that challenge, there can really only be one such creature - and so we have our first Beast of Legend or Manifest God. It's a 10th level Wizard, so possesses arcane powers far beyond the grasp of the most powerful PC arcanists. As a Wizard, it could concievably have any spell of 5th level or less. That is an astounding range of power in an E6 campaign. *'''The Aboleth Mage''' is the nameless god of the Far Realm Aboleths. It resides in the deepest subterranean lakes in the depths of the earth, where it slumbers, feeds on an endless stream of slaves and tribute from the Aboleth race, and casts dark magics.
