===Dufansdalr - on the western shore of Nionaem===
This settlement was a prosperous coastal fishing town. As the Black Winter crept south it became a forlorn, sad place in an almost constant fog, losing people every year by moving out. Katla, a middle-aged warrior woman is the village chief, mostly minding her own business, leaving the locals to fend for themselves. Her husband died during hunting, and no-one contested her claim to the title.
The White Wave is the village's only inn, where anyone can eat and drink. Paying for lodging is optional, since the old town has more than enough abandoned houses for anyone who wishes to stay. However, decent people do pay something to Fokkar, the keeper, so he can sustain his small family this way.
