A nation surviving well in the Blighted Earth and comprises Chile and Peru with wide parts of Boliva and the highlands of western Argentina.  It became a refuge for survivors  of Japan, as a national effort to flee Asia lead nearly 300,000 Japanese citizen to Chile. Relations between Japan and Chile had long been cordial, despite WWII.

Technologically advanced, Chile survived the nuclear devastation of panama and eastern South America.  Many Corporations have headquarters in Lima and La Sierra.  Military weapon development is highly restricted.  The civilian weapon industry, mostly providing worldwide auto-dueling equipment, is strictly prohibited.

The SCP hosts world class medical facilities.  Existing governments around the world have transferred many of their medical and scientific research centers to this stable region of the world.
