== Grue History == The Grue were created by the Mythical Preservers in the same way that modern humans were. Taking a small proto-plasmic being and bestowing upon it intelligence. The Preservers attempted to create a society free of conflict and internal dissent. Unfortunately, the Grue were also created with little ability to deal with outsiders save in a hostile manner. The Grue managed to eventually carve a bloody and brutal swath across several dozen species' home-worlds by the time of the early 19th century. This is when H.G. Wells recorded their first attempted excursion into this world. That sadly, for the Grue, failed as did another attempt at Grover's mill. During the 1950s, The Grue attempted to infiltrate the world through a number of more surreal methods. They created harvesting centers chronicled in the movie '''Invasion of the Body Snatchers''' and later would try the pregnancy issue in a similarly documented case of the '''Midwich Cookoos.''' In the 1970s through 1980s, the Grue have made a number of other half-hearted attempts to destroy humanity or co-opt us. Unfortunately, by this time, the Freedom League was fully functioning and managed to drive away the first full scale invasion force (this was actually but a small scout fleet). The Grue, so far, are interested in Earth as a sort of scientific preserve more than they are as a source of resources or slaves. Humanity's strange genetic quirks and variety of abilities interest the Grue and slightly frighten them. Thus, they are handling their dealings with them very cautiously. [[Halt Evil Doer!]]
