The woman now called Night's Endless Promise was born in a village that she will not name, or even talk about at all, in the Scavenger Lands a week or two out from Nexus. The villagers were a poor lot, often bought as slaves for the trade in Nexus or "taxed" by various would-be lords. Three decades prior, a group of immigrants had founded the village to be free of the Realm; instead, they became slaves to the whims of people lesser in power, but not in depravity.<br>

Night herself grew up a very pretty girl, always just lucky (or fast) enough to avoid being captured and sold or "claimed" by some lord among brigands. Indeed, she possessed a natural grace and beauty that surpassed that of her peers. She used her gifts to bring a little bit of cheer in a village that grew more consumed with despair and apathy each year. Night sang and danced for the villagers, inspiring them to carry on their daily struggles and not give in to the gloominess enshrouding the village. Slowly but surely, she fought back the tide of despair and became the pride of the village.<br>

Night's luck culminated in her being Chosen by the Maiden of Serenity, Venus, as well as an extremely rare foresight by the Gold Faction in spotting her destined Exaltation ahead of time. She was found and recruited by a Sidereal named Whispered Blessings, not long before the village was destroyed in battle with slavers from Nexus. Now she spends her time opposing the soul-crushing depravities of such slavers as well as strengthening the enemies of the Realm through little things -- one single blessed day can make up for years of strife and renew the soul's vigor.<br>
