== Background == Like most Rat Valken, Brother Mordoth was born to a very large social group and was one of the few children to survive to adulthood. This experience of competition for basic necessities and being forced to struggle to survive is something that the clan traditionally encouraged to teach the young such values as begging, cunning, fawning, fighting, and trickery. Mordoth was never the best warrior but his talent for magic quickly separated him from the rest of the chattel. He apprenticed himself to the previous Shaman of the tribe and killed the old man in his sleep after learning all he could (the man had lived to the ripe old age of 50 anyway, an absurdly long age for a Rat Valken). Brother Mordoth is now the leader of the largest Rat Clan of Valken that lives in the Caverns of Quasqueton, the Skulker Clan. Like many Valken shamans, he's made the full transition into becoming a Lycanthrope but has become corrupted from regular shamanism by his interest in Fell Sorceries. This has transformed him into a Warlock and made him now a devout worshiper of the Immaculate Doom. He's brought his entire clan down with him as the Rat Clans are slavish and loyal to whoever has the most power in their tribe. Brother Mordoth personally despises the situation that his race is, picking off the refuse and supplies of the greater humanity. This loathing has lead him to become a slaver, a dealer in illicit substances, and a murderer of large numbers of human beings. He has made alliances with certain corrupt humans in order to begin gathering wealth to bribe or buy off the other Rat clans in the city into his service. While he'd never share it with his fellows for fear of them turning on him for his ambition, he eventually believes they will strike at the humans above them and destroy them.
