Editing Character:Maria Mushishi (section)

=Background= 

Maria was the Class President, of course.  That went without saying-- she was determined, orderly, intelligent, beautiful.  It wasn't as well known that the Princess of Light went to the same school as her, but these things do happen.  She was a popular, cool figure, who the Princess, it is said, admired greatly, and inevitably looked foolish around.  (It's not that well known that she was actually a klutz before she came into her power, but she was.)

Maria's actual family life was more mysterious, however.  Her father was warm, kindly, a man who ran a ramen stand and seemed to love the entire world.  Her mother was some kind of high-powered executive, always gone, never able to express interest or concern over her daughter's life-- but Maria always wanted to make her proud.

In the early days of the War, the Kkrylos (humanoid insect-creatures) were the shock troops of the forces of Darkness and Annihilation, and they attacked the Princess of Light's school and town oh-so-frequently.  But somehow, the media remained ignorant of them for the longest time-- and so did Maria.  Somehow, she was never attacked.  Somehow, the Kkrylos fled just ahead of her approach.  

And then the battle grew, and darkness shrouded the world, and the Princess of Light battled the Kkrylos Queen on her way to face the King of the Void, and even the gigantic might of the Kkrylos Queen, formed of the living bodies of her warriors, could not stand before the Princess, and she was destroyed, the Kkrylos scattered, never to menace the world again.

Or so you'd think.

The Kkrylos were hidden, but survived.  A few began to emerge, then more and more.  Their goal wasn't so much the destruction of humanity, however.  They only had one goal, one purpose-- they had to serve their queen.

Their *new* Queen.

Maria hadn't realized what her mother was, hadn't known how to mourn when the word came that she'd been killed in an accident at work... hadn't known what her true nature was, until the Kkrylos came to her to serve, to obey, to join their bodies to hers as they tried to protect their beloved queen and make her mighty.  

Maria Mushishi was the heir to a power that had been thought lost to the world... could she manage to survive it?  Would Maria be lost in the soul of the Kkrylos Queen?  Or could the Kkrylos be saved and led to join humanity in peace?
