==The Fury of the North== As the Doctor's words faded from my ears, a new sensation churned within me and it seemed as if a different set of eyes in my skull were opened. I recognized the ruined battlefield around me, but it was almost as if someone else had caused this carnage. I looked at the remnants of the man lying in front of me and my own bloodstained hands with amazement. Feats of strength were nothing new to me, but this was something else entirely. "Hmm, that's...interesting," I thought to myself. I wondered what other “interesting” things were going to happen today. West. The Doctor told me to go west. But I was not going anywhere without some provisions. I began to scavenge the remains left on the field for cloaks, gloves, and any salvageable armor. One of my Northmen lay a few paces away, felled by a single axe-blow to the head. The breastplate he wore was nicely scored and dented, but still functional. “Well my friend, I do not think you will need this anymore. You go to the Underworld as all do, and I am sad I could not join you there.” I some words of thanks to his spirit for letting me use his armor, but when I tried to call him by name, the words escaped me. Kardan? Kariton? I shook my head. I knew I had fought and drank with him for many years, and I knew his face, but I could not remember his name. Why could I not remember his name? The snow that later blocked out every memory from my past life as Hargan Redsnow had begun to fall. I finished donning what armor I could find when I came upon the Dragonblood that had "killed" me. He was too small for any of his armor to be any good, but the sword he had driven through my gut still lay where I had dropped it. The thing was massive. The single edged red jade blade was a full four feet long, six inches in width, and at least an inch thick at the hilt. I picked it up, expecting it to take a good deal of effort to even heft the thing, but I was again surprised. A normal mortal would have had to use two hands and every bit of effort in him to get it off the ground, I lifted it with relative ease. It was still unwieldy at best though. The handle was still warm to the touch where the red Exalt’s anima had blasted it with fire. Suddenly my new senses kicked into full swing. I could feel the essence within me surge, and I could feel the power contained in the weapon. After a few minutes of focusing on the sword, it suddenly became lighter and more well-balanced than any sword I had ever held. It almost seemed to dance in the direction I wanted it to go. "Well, this will no doubt be useful," I thought to myself. It was now curiosity more than anything else that made me move west. If these first few moments of my new “life” were this interesting, I wondered what else was in store for me and what I would do with it. If this Doctor was already giving me this much, what else could I get hold of? I had always been one to follow my own lead, but I could let someone get the better of me if I thought it would get me what I needed. In my years as a Icewalker lord, I had gotten fairly good at that. But that was down the road and I literally had a very long walk ahead of me. I trudged through the snow, guts and blood until I had reached where we had tied some of our horses. Some had scattered, but a few still remained tied up. Unfortunately, when I approached, the horses started to whicker and became very agitated, but I was still trying to clear my head and did not notice their unease. When I reached for the reins of one of the horses, the damned animal nearly crushed my skull in with its hooves. Needless to say it stopped trying to do that when I removed its head. The next horse responded in exactly the same way. “Fuck. Looks like I’m walking,” I cursed.
