== History ==
Celt was colonized in 2208 as part of a joint operation between [[Starfall:_Sol|Sol]], [[Starfall:_Halo|Halo]], [[Starfall:_Pharaoh|Pharaoh]], and [[Starfall:_Independent_Corporate_System|I.C.S.]].  In 2212, Celt was invaded and occupied by the [[Starfall:_Eberon|Eberian Empire]]. This event started the [[Starfall:_Stellar_War|Stellar War]]. At the conclusion of the war Celt was liberated, but the political system that had been established in the four years before the war had been destroyed. After the liberation a conflict started between those who wanted to return to the system of government that had existed before, a Representative Republic, and those who want to establish a new form of government based on the underground network that existed during the war and provides more freedom to the individual city states of the planet.  The tension between the Republicans and Confederates came to the attention of the newly formed [[Starfall:_Port_Freedom#Galactic_Senate|Galactic Senate]].  Diplomats from the Alliance came to Celt hoping to defuse the conflict.  What actually happened was the formation of a third power that wanted a close relationship with the Galactic Alliance.  The conflict was then between Republicans, Confederates, and the Alliance Party.  

Political tension at this time was so intense that in 2240 all out war broke out.  The three way war lasted to a lesser or great extent for the next seventy years, with no side being able to stabilize the situation.  That changed in 2308 when the Republic Party was able to establish a comfortable advantage.  In 2313 The Republicans started receiving aid from Eberon.  The Republicans were able to gain the upper hand and subdue the other sides rather quickly.

The Republican Party had little interest in joining the [[Starfall:_Port_Freedom#Galactic_Senate|Galactic Senate]].
