=First Brazen Sand Excellency= The Greenfire King is constantly ''overt'', always attempting to find the most ''straightforward solution'' to any given problem that he encounters, even if it’s not necessarily the best one. Although he has ''little patience'' for excessively long consideration on any issue, his ''surprisingly perceptive'' nature and ''quick-thinking'' serve him well in their stead. He finds himself impulsively driven to ''lay low those who try to harm those weaker then themselves''. His ''green fire'' serves not only as an instrument of ''destruction'', but as his greatest ''tool'' to leave his ''mark upon existence'', leaving monuments of ''burning green energy'' in his wake. His ''explosive pride'' has him convinced that ''anyone who tells him he cannot do something is wrong''. Meanwhile, he has no attachment to the human form, taking a form that best expresses his ''inhuman strength''. This excellency can always be used in any ''overt declaration'' or ''demonstratively obvious use of power.'' Beyond anything else, Brazen Sand wants to be seen as a ''heroic figure'' by those around him. He ''crushes obstacles'' and ''battles monsters'' to ''defend those he loves'', and their ''adulation gives him greater strength''. When those around him see the Greenfire King do the impossible, they too are ''uplifted into heroism'' by ''his example''. His ''legend'' becomes an extension of himself, and he lives in his ''fame'' as those around him give him ''glory''. Brazen Sand ''breaks rules'' and ''tramples decorum'' as he embodies heroism ''unrestrained''. When the Greenfire King encounters those with the spark of heroism, he ''pushes them towards their destiny'', and encourages them to ''write their own legend'' upon the world. Subtlety is a concept that finds no purchase upon the Greenfire King’s mind. This excellency cannot be used for any action that involves attempting to prevent others from noticing the user or the user’s actions. The Greenfire King desires above all that others acknowledge his actions. The dice-cap for this Excellency is halved when used without any other conscious sentient being present to perceive an action improved by this charm. Allies always count as onlookers for the purposes of this charm, but individually engaged enemies never do, although a crowd of enemies will as they wait and watch their fellows get crushed under the Greenfire King’s talons. ==Other Brazen Charms== Ever-Thankful Populace Cost: 2m Min: Essence 2 Duration: Instant Type: Supplemental Prerequisites: None This charm can supplement any action that could validly have Compassion channelled towards it. It creates an intimacy of thankful awe in all who see it, acting as UMI that can be resisted for 1wp. Charms that work off of other Virtues are possible, with different intimacies being created. Monumental Heroism Cost: 4m Min: Essence 3 Duration: Indefinite Type: Simple Keywords: Sorcerous, Shaping Prerequisites: Ever-thankful Populace This charm can be applied after succeeding in an action that could have been supplemented by Ever-Thankful Populace (although actually using the charm isn’t necessary). This creates a statue in the centre of the location in which the action had taken place, usually showing the charm’s user in a heroic pose. As long as the statue exists, it’s very presence tells the story of the user’s deeds, using the user’s Presence+Charisma to create an intimacy of grateful awe in those that behold it and have their MDVs beaten. This is NMI that costs 1 wp to resist. This must be resisted once per scene, and after it is resisted a number of times equal to the charm user’s current Essence, they are no longer susceptible to it. The user automatically knows where each statue is, and can instantly feel when a statue has been destroyed. At Essence 5, this charm automatically upgrades and the statues become impervious to mundane damage or environmental effects. Vigilant Guardian Cost: (+3m) Min: Essence 3 Duration: - Type: - Keywords: Blasphemy Prerequisites: Monumental Heroism What good is a guardian that will not watch over those that depend upon them for protection? This charm allows the region that the statue created with the Prerequisite to become metaphysically owned by the statue’s creator, and considered to be their territory. This ownership is based upon the monument, and will end if it is somehow destroyed. Meanwhile, the land knows it’s benefactor and it’s least gods and even the motes of essence that compose it will act to aid them. All of the user’s actions within an area that is under the effects of Vigilant Guardian gain a +1 bonus, which counts as dice from charms. The area that is affected by this charm depends on the population around the statue, up to a maximum of (Essence/2) miles/statue. The effect of this charm is Obvious when any of the territory is viewed with Essence Sight. At Essence 4 this charm can be repurchased, upgrading it to allow the user to remotely view any part of the territory held by this charm by reflexively paying a single mote Help is On The Way Cost: - Min: Essence 3 Duration: - Type: - Keywords: - Prerequisites: Monumental Heroism This upgrade makes the statues created by Monumental Heroism act as altars to the charm’s user. Prayers said at the statue automatically succeed in their prayer rolls and are heard by the statue’s creator. As a side-effect, anyone who prays at the statue automatically has their intimacy to the statue’s creator returned to or created at, full strength, if it wasn’t already. Another purchase of this charm allows the statue’s creator to speak through the statue directly. Refusing to answer or otherwise act upon a genuine prayer for aid requires the failure of a Compassion roll, no matter how low the user’s Compassion actually is. My People Need Me Cost: 4m Min: Essence 4 Duration: Indefinite Type:Reflexive Keywords: Combo-Ok Prerequisites: Help is On the Way Brazen’s heroism draws him towards adventure, justice, and wherever voices call out to him for aid. This charm can be activated whenever moving towards a region where someone has called for the charm user using Help is On the Way. Their speed is multiplied by (Essence), and they take no penalties from fatigue, so long as they continue moving towards the source of the prayer.
