=History= Crispin has never been a slave, but only by working very hard to remain free - not an easy proposition for an orphan of Nexus. Frequently, after performing for a local big-shot, he would need to back-flip out a window or work in an impromptu exit into his routine, or else never be allowed to leave. The reminder of what awaited him should he fail - well. They served those for whom he played, in many and excruciating ways, for there are always more orphans to pluck from the streets. He joined a traveling carnival, and made fast friends on the roads, learning all they could teach, and helping them make a name for their troupe. Disaster struck uncaring, as it so often does; White Wall was facing the threat of war, and hardened criminals were judged better foot soldiers than traveling performers; they were captured and set out for the Fae's Tithe. But Crispin had been left his flute, his voice, and his wits; he organized the band led them marching with flute and song, and amused the Fae for just long enough to make a break for the Stone Road. Only half the troupe made it. And as they made for the next city, they were beset by undead, the remains of a caravan now in turn a plague on other travelers. The troupe fled, chased, brought down in ones and twos. The next dawn, half crazed with loss, Crispin counted himself the lone survivor, and the undead hunting him, despite the wane light. He snapped, and beat down two of the undead before his flute broke. The Unconquered Sun Exalted him, and he immediately set about finishing off the rest of the undead. He faintly remembers being told to raise up his people and break their chains, and now he knows what he is truly meant to do. Since then he has traveled the roads, performed and gathered people to his cause. A few of these have been brave enough to help him start a secret society dedicated to overthrowing the practice of slavery.
