Spectral carrion birds swoop around her, their charnel forms unwholesome to the eye β among other things they have far too many teeth. Shadows spiral out from her every step, twining up walls and uprights like climbing vines, stringing between treelimbs like vast spiderwebs, and dripping from overhangs.
