'''Kyuad:''' "Diero did not seem altogether savvy of the nature of ShadowWall when he spoke to me there.  If anything, his manner seemed to be perturbed that such a beautiful house still existed so close to Cambrial.  He mentioned nothing of Walden when he was there, and seemed to believe me to be the owner of the house until I told him otherwise.  I still believe that his path simply took him close to the tree.  My assumption is that Caffel knew this was a possibility, and this was the reason that she asked me to seek you out.  Though, it could be any number of reasons, I don't quite understand her purposes sometimes.  She simply sends me where her visions tell her I should be."

Kyuad seems to contemplate something for a moment, then continues, "That is something I should probably explain.  One of the reasons I allowed the legate to live is that it was the only logical purpose for my being there.  Caffel knew that you would be able to help me, but she could have sent me after you a day later and I would have never met Diero.  Had I not been there, he most likely would have been killed by the rest of you.  My childhood friendship with him is the only reason any of us would have had to allow him to live, and therefore, it is the most likely reason I would be put into such a position.  My conclusion was that Diero will serve a purpose to us in the future somehow, based not on who I think the man is, but on my utmost trust in the wisdom of my teacher, Caffel.

"Trust him, I do not.  I trust however, that we ''will'' have need for him in the future.

"Then again, he might have been looking for Sir Walden and didn't want to let on, I don't know.  I'm only doing the best I can."
