== Followers of the White Ship == The Followers of the White Ship is a religious tradition that grew out of the Church of Latter Day Saints around the time of the Exodus. During the Exodus the Mormons were trying to gain access to a colony ship so that they might leave the Earth. A Mormon named Randal Esper was able to get a small ship, and he left the Earth, telling the rest of his church that he was going to find a suitable planet and then return to lead the others to it. He never returned, and his fate is unclear. Many Mormons did leave the Earth, Some taking refuge with [[Starfall:_Independent_Corporate_System|I.C.S]] and other simply wandering throughout the Galaxy waiting for Randal to return to lead them to the planet he have found for them. Over time Randal became a Prophet figure for the Church. The basic tenants of the Church are an evolution of Christian ideas, changed to reflect a space fairing society. However many adherents are unaware of the Christian origins of their religion. Basically, the Followers hope to live virtuous lives so that Randal will return and take them to their new home. Followers strictly abstain from from mind altering substance and even refuse certain medical procedures. Pacifism and non violence is another important aspect of the religion. The most obvious trait of the religious its community structure, which is strictly hierarchical. While members of the religion denies it there is a strong misogynistic tone to the faith. The best example of this is the practice of polygyny which is common among church members.
