='''Background'''= Some shitty world back in the Chainelane Isles is what he said when people always got to that tired line of questioning. The 'So, where you from?' That unoriginal shit to ask when they don't care and you know it but they just can't sit there and enjoy the damned silence. They just have to fill it with more shit. He'd stowed away on a dropship that was too sloppy to detect the extra weight and worked off the passage with the bitch of an owner. Moved from there to a Infantry unit that merc'ed around doing security and spotting coverage for a down to their last round mech unit. They'd been beat down to the factory paint job but he was in love. They were giants on the battlefield and they got respect. Shit that he'd never gotten in his whole life. So he'd studied, and read, and traded everything he could get for time on the simulators. Finally Tony McGinnis has found something that he was good at. He spend the next thirty some years in every Mercenary unit that he could get into. But he'd picked up a reputation for being as much trouble out of a mech as he was a skilled killer inside of one. He chased skirts, he drank and started fights, and he mouthed off. That kept him out of the better units, the ones that'd pass over a veteran looking for a thinner disciplinary file. So he'd found himself, ass deep in Drac space without a mech again. His Hunchback shot out from under him in what was supposed to have been a garrison mission. Yeah, tell that to the fucking insurrectionists that hadn't been mentioned in any of the briefings. Love their land mines those fuckers did. Got off planet and back on the hunt for a mech and work. Story of his fucking life.
