Anyone in [[ALVATIA:_Ingsby_-_Village_and_Manor|Ingsby]], except the lord of the manor and his family, can be found in the green at some time of the day. Women and older children fetch water from the [[ALVATIA:_Ingsby_-_Green#The_Well|well]] in the morning; a few villagers eat their mid-day meal sitting on the stock, under the oaks; and meetings of the whole village (such as manor court) are usually held here.
