==Minor, Iconic Gear== *'''Careworn Satchel''': Near-black and shiny from decades of wear and handling, this satchel contains all of Jones' navigational tools, and her secure logbook. Secreted in pouches within are preserved snacks, whatever coin she can muster, and a crude doll of her father, Constance. *'''Ageless Astrolabe''': This old brass thing, oxidized black except for the parts that are polished from handling, has long since fallen out of favor as a navigational aide, but Jones knows how to make it sing. *'''Battered Telescope''': Brass, dented and scuffed from long use, but still good. You have to know how to telescope it, though: its injuries and indignities have complicated the once-simple process. Its collapsable tripod is in better shape. *'''Constance the Doll''': Crudely but lovingly handmade by Ellie, the woman who was a mother to her, so that even when she was far from her dear father he could still be with her. Though she's long since outgrown the need for the doll, she can't bring herself to get rid of it. *'''Roxani's Cutlass''': Given to her by the old navigator she apprenticed to, because "a young lady needs to be able to defend herself." Indifferent in construction, it's seen better days. The grip needs to be restitched. But the balance is decent and the blade is sharp. *'''Charts of the Planets and Stars''': Folded to the point of being creased, the vellum is oily from continuous handling. Another of Roxani's gifts, these maps contain everything needed to navigate on Earth, and through the Solar System. Jones handles them with exquisite care, and she keeps them in an oilcloth wrap to protect them.
