They love Yui but are ambivalent about her punk aesthetic and radical left-wing activism. They recognize that she shares a lot of their values and are happy that she wants to make the world a better place—but they find her rebellious, radical approach embarrassing and unsettling and fear that it might hurt their own political careers.
* '''Yui’s younger''' (15 years) '''sister''', Emi Kawai (1). Emi is a popular, outgoing girl who is into idol culture. She finds her older sister dreadfully embarrassing and tries to avoid being seen with her in public.
* '''Takeo Ayase''' (2), the charismatic, de facto leader of Yui’s circle of activist friends. He attends a different high school.
